YFMTN offers opportunities to at-risk youth who have a desire to work in the industry, yet who do not have the work experience, financial capability or social connections needed to pursue their career.
Working with existing youth employment agencies, we can reach youth with an interest in film and media that are living in some of Toronto’s priority neighbourhoods, youth who may have talent and drive but do not have an entry point to the industry.
For these youth, we offer two programs: an introductory filmmaking program and a job placement program for graduates. Through the filmmaking program, students learn the technical, business and social skills needed to find employment in a variety of departments in film and media. Through our job placement program, graduates gain valuable hands-on experience and advanced guidance. In short, our programs prep students to begin their careers successfully.
