In a highly visible, fast-paced and creative environment, under the general direction of Senior Manager - Editorial, acts as a Producer and Project Manager responsible for the proactive development of branded video assets through oversight of all aspects from story creation and video production through distribution.
What will I be doing?
Directs video shooting, editing and generating video content for online platforms in conjunction with rest of the Editorial team and Producers.
Assists in the oversight of video production in-house, including presence on set for video shoots.
Obtains scripting and soundbites for production of videos.
Develops original stories by discovering and using information supplied by clients, as well as other research, to identify viable and compelling story topics.
Develops concepts, co-writes and vets compelling and accurate stories for video productions that are aligned with the organization's strategic vision and marketing goals.
Refines and develops content ideas to strategically fit into a broader internal and external communication / marketing strategy.
Works with the client to ensure that there is a common understanding of goals so that content can be assessed and created with the broader strategy goals in mind.
Works creatively and collaboratively within Digital, Editorial and Social and Creative Service teams for post-production, design and graphical requirements.
Oversees the development, production and post-production of branded video content.
Liaises with talent on set ensuring a smooth shoot.
Ensures all schedule, client, creative, technical and budget expectations are met.
Ensures that all video content is to the highest standard both from a visual and editorial perspective.
Creates videos are culturally sensitive to create branding that is favourably received by a diverse consumer.
Team player demonstrating ability to work within cross-functional teams in a subject matter expert role to facilitate successful products.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in video production, communications, graphic design or related field or a related discipline -- or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Demonstrated progressive experience, including producing experience; Experience managing post-production steps (retouch, colour correction, sound/audio, music). Experience at a branded content studio or related role within a media organization or relevant work experience an asset.
Experience in working with various types of post-production software.
Deep understanding of all digital media platforms and social media.
Inherent understanding of the art of storytelling through live-action footage, motion graphics, video and music/audio.
Demonstrated skills as a storyteller with the ability to leverage strong written and verbal skills to translate strategies into convincing and inspiring stories.
Proven talent for researching, brainstorming, organizing and pitching ideas to others.
Proven track record of success in a dynamic environment, working as a team player while fostering creative culture.
Excellent organizational and project/time management skills to develop and manage multiple projects simultaneously, multitask over long periods, meet all established deadlines and manage expectations of business partners and stakeholders.
